After taking this class I have realized some of the things that are going on around me, and with this new knowledge I will now be more apart of my community and help just about anyone that is in need. Sometimes life isn't as bad as people say it is, because life is what a person makes it. In my life I have heard the saying "When life gives you lemons make lemonade", but if the words "and share them with your family and friends" were added I think that would better suit my personality now after taking this class. I have noticed after taking this class I am more open to going to museums, just because now I have a better since of the paintings that I am looking at and can actually see what is in front of me. Certainly I thought that I knew what art was, but taking this class has shown me that I really only know the basics of it all. I know that I will learn so much more about art on the path that I am leading now, because now I am following my dream instead of letting it go in the wind.

Einstein on the Beach
The performance art that caught my attention while I was looking around for the perfect one for me was Einstein on the Beach. When first taking a look at this it doesn't have the feel of an opera, but it is an opera which has 4 acts to it. Einstein on the Beach was composed by Philip Glass and the theater producer for this magical performance is Robert Wilson. The whole idea of this opera is it doesn't really need to make any since and no one has to understand it, just need to sit back and relax and watch what is going on in front of the crowd. The premiere of this show was on July 25, 1976 in Avignon, France at the Avignon Festival. It was the first and longest score that Philip Glass had created at the time. The whole performance took about five hours with no intermission. Some of the main props that were used in this were Symbols from Albert Einsteins life. This piece spoke to me while I was watching a few clips of it because I have been getting more into Albert's life and the things that he did, also I wanted to see what they did and how they incorporated it into the show.

51st Annual Student Art Show
As I was walking into the art show I first noticed the H-51 which seems as if it is a close up to a type of a flower. The medium that was used for this type of art was film. The subject of this photo is trying to capture life as it happens and to catch the beautiful colors that came from this life. This appealed to me because this photo is sort of a optical illusion, Its a picture of the inside of a flower and the center of it forms another flower on the inside. The next piece of art that I took a look at was DL-10 which seemed as if it were a type of hanna but on a large piece of canvas. The medium that was used for this artwork was a lead pencil. When I first looked at this art work it looked as if it were a titan holding a castle on his back, but as I looked closer I saw that it was actually a hermit crab with a castle on the back of it. It appealed to me because I feel as if everything was on my back all at once.

Suprematism
Suprematism was founded by the Russian artist
Kazimir Malevich. It was said that this form of art was one of the earliest creation of abstract art. The name came from his belief that Suprematism art would be superior to all the art in the past. Malevich's art had also influenced another form of art which was named Unism. It seemed as if the communist power did not like the kind of art that Malevich was producing and attacked the movement. This form of art work is a small number of geometric shapes in solid colours on a white background.

Pillars Of Creation
This is a photograph that was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope on April 1, 1995. Nasa named it Pillars Of Creation because of its pillar like structures and it was the clearest image of the universe at that time. The colors really pop out at me on this one, the white mixed with the brown to make the clouds of interstellar dust, the dark background which makes the interstellar dust stand out, and the purple stars are just a perfect touch to this photograph. This is only a half-length shot, it actually forms an eagle when able to see the full picture. The light coming from the pillars gives them an aura feel. This is actually a star-forming patch of space which is 6,500 light-years from earth. The pillars themselves are 5 light-years long, which are shown in this picture. This was a spontaneous photograph, because nothing in the galaxy could be planned. When I first saw this photo it reminded me of a time that I Astral Traveled.

Faith Ringgold
The painting God Bless America was created by the artist Faith Ringgold. She grew up in Harlem during the Great Depression. She didn't feel as if her and her family was affected by it because of her loving family. Ringgold's art work was effected by the people, poetry, and music that she experienced while she was younger, also the racism, sexism, and segregation that she dealt with in her everyday life. This painting was created during the civil rights movement in 1964.It is a descriptive painting about the US government at those times. The symbols that she uses in this painting is a person that is stuck in a prison by living in America, the stripes symbolise the bars which they live behind.

My point of view on existentialism
I do believe what Sartre says does exist, especially in today's society. There are many people today that live by that but I choose to believe in what I want to not what other people want me to believe in. When a person is born they do have a purpose, it is up to them on what they want to do not anyone else. Sartre had a purpose when he started to question everything around him. In my personal life I carry my self to accept people as they are not what they believe in. We, as in the world, are just giving every person in the world something to do with having money and the need to please people. Its something to pass the time, but at the same time while we go to work and enslave our self's we are making a better world for the next generation of humans. Yes, we are just existing, its up to the human to give its self a purpose. I can not see my self as a existential hero because I am content with being a regular human.

Old Spice is art
Some people believe that advertisement is not an art form. The definition of art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power. Now the advertisement that I choose was for Old Spice, which is a company that makes male grooming products. When I look at this advertisement the mood that it creates for me is a since of being calm, due to the background of the ocean, and the majestic horse that the man is sitting on. This advertisement tells me that there product is going to be as fresh as the ocean breeze while riding horseback, also allowing me to feel as if I were there riding with him. The way the model is sitting and looking, kind of gives off an erotic feel to the advertisement, saying that if you wear this you will feel the same way as the model. Yes, I do believe that this advertisement is a work of art, due to the location of the photo shoot, the props that were used and the body language of the model.

Censorship on Lord Of The Rings
John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was born on 03 January 1892 in Bloemfontein, Orange Free State, or known now as South Africa. People thought when Lord Of The Rings was first published it was going to be a children's book, so he started to make drawings to show the audience what he intended them to see(1). This story is about two young Hobbits (race similar to humans) that go on an adventure, or quest, to get the "One Ring" to a place called Mount Doom so that they could destroy the ring because of the powers that it contains. There were multiple reasons why this book was initially banned, one of the major reasons was because people saw the book as anti-religious and they had the books in many different libraries including schools(2). As the story unfolds, in the series, they figure out that the story reveals christian elements to it. I chose to write about this book because of the familiar paths that I have taken and felt the same way as Frodo. I am not saying that I'm in the same realm as Frodo, but just experienced what he has felt.

Tom Zart - General Quarters
Tom Zart has over 1300 poems and is said to be the most published poet on the web. It seems as if he is a religious man and would like to see everyone believe in god. The topic of General Quarters is the battle stations of Tom Zarts naval experience during Pearl Harbor. I personally did not have any issues reading this poem because I was once in the United States Navy. Zart said "We soon found out it wasn't a drill but instead it was war for real. As you watch the death of friends and shipmates, Its more anger then fear you feel", It gave me an image that reminded me of some of my experiences in the Navy. I had thought the same way as him when I had my first real battle stations. Over all-knowing what I know-it was a pretty good poem to read, and I think that I will start to read more of the poems that Tom Zart has created.
GENERAL QUARTERS
General quarters, general quarters
All hands man your battle station!
Sunday morning, December the 7th
As war confronted our nation.
We soon found out it wasn't a drill
But instead it was war for real.
As you watch the death of friends and shipmates
It's more anger than fear you feel.
Japanese warplanes came flying in low
As I took aim with my gun sight.
From the deck of a ship anchored at Pearl
Damaged, though crew still eager to fight.
I saw the face of a pilot, who crashed
Surrounded by black smoke and fire.
Some of my bullets must have found their mark.
For his death was but my desire!
Two thousand, three hundred and twenty-three killed
In a battle less than two hours.
With the heart of our Pacific fleet gone
Japan had flexed their naval powers.
The bombing and strafing of ships and troops
Caused our congress to declare full war.
Where many a man laid down his life
Fighting for flag, country and more.

My Shadow
The shadow that I found was a character from the TV series Gotham, the man that goes by the name of Oswald Cobblepot or as most know him as penguin. Now most citizens that live in Gotham are clinically insane or just pure crazy, but Oswald sticks out the most in Gotham. what I hate the most that he can just get away with anything just by crying in front of the people that are going to wipe him off the earth. I can see in some of the villainous things that he does can be connected to my shadow but not completely. This shadow is kind of like a person that I know but only certain aspects of the way that Oswald acts. I believe that it says that sometimes I just want to get away with some things that happen to me, but I know that I wont be able to, at least not like that.

Igor Stravinsky
The melody and rhythm had actually caught my attention because to me it is kind of unusual, even though I listen to classical music every now and then. I thought the beat on 3:30 had a nice flow to it and i could see it in music that I listen to everyday. Now honestly the only part that I did not like was when it was a little bit of a softer tempo, yes it is soothing to me but I would rather it not be in the same song. I can feel the energy of the music, also can see how the Parisians in 1913 felt when they first heard the music. I can see everyone, as we say now "moshing", in the Orchestra hall and just all the absurdity that happened that night. It seemed as if it was a scene of a huge battle between the different sympathy instrument. In all I really loved the style of music and how it made me feel.

Kokoschka
The Subject of this painting is to capture the beauty in the city that Kokoschka is painting, to capture it at that moment in time. There is so much going on in this painting and every brush stroke catches my attention and makes me question how he saw what he was painting. It makes me feel as if I were actually there during a very busy day, so much going on in the water and everything around it. I like that Kokoschka used blotches to make the further buildings and scenery, It gives it more color that is all smashed together but still forms something that can be translated in the mind. It leaves the rest to be created in my mind in the style that was used. To me its a perfectly painted blob of different colors to form what was seen at the time in the head of the artist.

My Culture
Spending my days listening to a verity of music, but more specifically I love Electronic Dance Music (EDM). I try to go to as many shows that I can before its to late and I am unable to see the artist that I like anymore. Ever since I got into this type of music I've seen the world as a different place, and I just want to share that with everyone that is apart of my life. Its a completely different way of looking at the world, everyone that is apart of this is accepted for who they are not for the way that they look or how much money is in the bank. Its all about having fun with everyone around. During my journey of this music I have found one of my greatest passions which is gloving. Its a type of flow art that makes me feel as if I were painting a canvas with lights, also it puts me in a state where all my stress just floats away. In the future I see that I will be apart of the business culture. Waking up early in the morning to get dressed up in my suit to go to my business to make a difference in this world.
